Associate Attorney Position

Patterson Ripplinger, P.C. is currently seeking 2 Litigation Attorneys for our busy DTC office.

Job Overview

Qualified candidates must have insurance defense litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have experience defending first and third-party claims, drafting coverage analyses, drafting motions, pleadings, complaints, conducting depositions and court hearings in both state and federal court. Strong research, writing, and independent thinking skills are essential. Candidates must be prepared to assume primary responsibility for all aspects of the cases on which they work, from pre-litigation analysis through trial and appeal. Must have strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and track billable hours using electronic practice management software. Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies.
  • Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice, and other services to clients and claims specialists on legal and factual issues.
  • Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in a manner consistent with established office procedures.
  • Responsible for the prompt, efficient, and effective disposition of assigned cases.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial and administrative hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with J.D., and admission to the bar in Colorado
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance defense
  • Litigation Experience required
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent work ethic
